Design
of carom board
Carrom board is a square piece of
plywood in which pieces of carom are placed in each corner. A half-inch wooden
border encloses the board, allowing the piece played in the carom and the
striker to fall out. The square size of the carom is 76 cm.
It is about 4.5 in diameter and has a smooth upper
surface, allowing the pieces to reach the holes made in the corners. In the
center of the board is a design vow where all the pieces and queens are
decorated. A strip 47 cm long and 3 cm wide is drawn around the board. The
striker line is the name given to this strip. On which the player places the
striker and makes pieces.
Carrom
Material
Carrom requires very few materials to play. There
is only one striker. There are 9 pieces of two colors, plus a red-colored piece
known as the queen. The carom top surface contains powder that must be poured
for the carom surface to remain smooth.
Carrom
Board Guidelines
This game can be played in two ways: single or
double (team). Before the game begins, the surface is smoothed by adding powder
over the board. Then, in the middle of the board, black and white color pieces
are decorated in a circle, and white color pieces are placed in a Y shape.
The red goat, known as the queen, is placed in the
center. After that, the game starts and the player who chooses the color just
moves to get that color. It has a striker from which the player hits the piece
and gets it by throwing it into the hole; one point is awarded for each piece,
and there's a queen in it. To achieve this queen, you must first get the queen
and then a goat.
If the second piece is not getting after the queen,
the queen is returned to the center of the circle. There are 29 points in an
innings and three of those points are used to decide which team wins in two
innings. In the end, the player with the highest score is declared the winner.
